Dopo ore,” translated from Italian,

means “after hours.”

It’s what happens when you clock out, whether physically or mentally. You don’t need to fly to the Adriatic Sea to feel like you’re there, but it sure helps. Dopo Ore brings the joie de vivre to daily life. Loud and punchy, illustrated and carefully crafted, dopo ore designs are to be lived in. We are bringing resort wear to everyday wear. Best paired with an Aperol Spritz and an “out of office” state of mind.

This project was guided by Dana McMahon, a professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, for her Art Direction course. The course is part of a certificate program for Fashion Advertising at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media.

It all started with a photo.

Who doesn’t wish they were on the coast of the Positano or floating around the Isle of Capri? This brand came to life based upon a color palette and a photo of the Italian coast. Using Adobe Color to create the palette, our class was individually tasked with creating a repeating pattern to participate in the 2024 Spring FashionMash Fashion Show.

I began my ideations with the local food, drinks, and color of the Italian coast. That morphed into fauna. That morphed into whimsical ideas of make-believe cocktail lounges and the characters that frequent them. After AI prompt generation led me down a path of dapper lizards (head here to learn more about those gentlemen), I used those assets in Adobe Photoshop to design my final pattern: playing with position, size, and color correction.

The project included work with Adobe PhotoShop, AfterEffects, Illustrator, and InDesign. I look forward to seeing this idea come to life on the catwalk in Spring 2024.
